- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp brewed coffee
- 1 tbsp coconut cream (add more if needed)
Instructions
- Combine dry and butter ingredients: In the bowl of a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, add 1 cup softened plant-based butter, 3 cups powdered sugar, and 2/3 cup cocoa powder. Mix on low speed, gradually increasing to medium speed, and whip for 1-2 minutes until well combined and creamy.
- Add liquids and adjust consistency: Stop mixing and scrape sides of the bowl with a spatula. Turn mixer to low speed and add 1 teaspoon brewed coffee and 1 tablespoon coconut cream. Then mix on medium-high speed for 2 minutes to fully incorporate the liquids and create a smooth frosting.
- Check and modify consistency: Assess the texture of the frosting. If you want a thicker frosting, add 1/4 cup powdered sugar and mix well. If you prefer it thinner, add 1-2 teaspoons of coconut cream and mix again. Repeat this step as needed until desired consistency is reached.
