  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This refreshing Blackberry Mint Cocktail combines the fruity sweetness of blackberries with the aromatic freshness of mint, complemented by the crispness of Brut Prosecco and a splash of 7UP Cherry Soda. Perfect for summer gatherings or a stylish evening drink, this cocktail offers a delightful balance of tart and sweet flavors with a vibrant presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Blackberry-Mint Muddle

  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 6 leaves mint
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 lime, juiced

For the Cocktail

  • 1 bottle Brut Prosecco (750 ml)
  • ¼ cup 7UP® Cherry Soda
  • 4 blackberries (for garnish)
  • 4 sprigs mint (for garnish)
  • 1 lime, quartered (for garnish)
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blackberry-Mint Muddle: In a mixing glass, combine 1 cup blackberries, 6 mint leaves, 1 tablespoon sugar, and the juice of one lime. Gently muddle the ingredients together until the berries release their juice and the mixture is fragrant and well combined.
  2. Divide the Muddle: Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the muddled blackberry-mint mixture into each serving glass to form the flavorful base of the cocktail.
  3. Add Ice: Fill the glasses with ice to chill the drink and help mix the flavors upon stirring.
  4. Pour Prosecco and Soda: Top each glass with Brut Prosecco and a splash of 7UP Cherry Soda to add effervescence and a hint of cherry sweetness. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients without losing the fizz.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Skewer a blackberry, a sprig of mint, and a wedge of lime on a toothpick or cocktail pick for a decorative and aromatic garnish. Place it atop each glass, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh blackberries and mint for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Adjust sugar quantity depending on the sweetness of your blackberries and personal preference.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace Prosecco with sparkling water or non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
  • Chill the Prosecco beforehand to maximize the cocktail’s refreshing quality.
  • Be gentle when muddling mint leaves to avoid bitterness.
