Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to ensure it’s at the perfect temperature when your cake is ready to bake.
- Make Cinnamon Crumble: In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, 1½ cups flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir with a fork until mixture becomes crumbly and well combined, forming a cinnamon crumble topping.
- Prepare Cake Batter: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar using a hand mixer or wooden spoon until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract. Fold in sour cream carefully until incorporated.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients into the wet butter mixture, stirring gently until just moistened. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake tender.
