- 4 large potatoes
Dairy
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
- Prepare Potatoes: Wash and peel the 4 potatoes, then cut them into quarters. Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of water and let them soak for 20 minutes to remove excess starch.

- Drain Potatoes: Once cooked, drain the potatoes in a colander set in the sink.
- Mash Potatoes: While the potatoes are still hot, use a potato masher or ricer to mash them until smooth and fluffy.
- Heat Butter and Milk: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the 3/4 cup milk and 6 tablespoons of salted butter until the butter melts completely.
- Add Baking Powder: Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of baking powder over the mashed potatoes and gently fold it in to help improve the fluffiness.
- Combine Ingredients: Pour the hot milk and butter mixture over the mashed potatoes.
- Mix Thoroughly: Stir everything together until well combined and creamy.
- Season: Add salt and ground black pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as desired.
- Serve: Serve the mashed potatoes warm as a comforting side dish and enjoy!
