Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound langostino lobster, thawed if frozen (already cooked)
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried chives
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
- 8 ounces gruyere cheese, freshly grated
- 2 ounces parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- Kosher salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings and Serving
- Crushed potato chips, for topping
- Potato chips and crackers, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (204°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
- Dry Lobster: Pat the thawed langostino lobster completely dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture for a better texture.
- Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, dijon mustard, dried chives, dried dill, freshly grated lemon zest, and a generous pinch of kosher salt and pepper. Use a mixer or vigorous stirring until smooth. Fold in the grated gruyere, parmesan, and the dried langostino lobster until evenly combined.
- Prepare for Baking: Spread the mixed dip evenly into a baking dish approximately 8 inches in diameter, such as a pie plate.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle crushed potato chips liberally over the top of the dip. This will create a crunchy and flavorful crust as it bakes.
- Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbling and hot throughout.
- Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh herbs or chives for a pop of color and freshness. Serve hot with potato chips and crackers for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure the lobster is fully thawed and cooked before using.
- Use freshly grated cheeses for the best melting and flavor.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste before baking.
- The crushed potato chip topping adds excellent texture contrast and can be customized with flavored chips.
- This dip is best served hot and fresh from the oven but can be reheated gently if needed.
