  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Lamb Kebab Burger featuring juicy lamb patties cooked to perfection and topped with a tangy garlic yogurt sauce, fresh tomato, gherkins, spicy red chili, and crisp Baby Gem lettuce, all sandwiched in toasted sesame seed buns for a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 2 tbsp fat-free yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated

Main Ingredients

  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 lamb burgers
  • 2 sesame seed burger buns
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 20g gherkins, sliced
  • 1 red chilli, finely sliced
  • Leaves of 1 Baby Gem lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the fat-free yogurt, mayonnaise, and the grated garlic clove. Mix thoroughly until smooth and set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Cook the Lamb Burgers: Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the lamb burgers and cook for about 10 minutes, turning halfway through to ensure they are evenly browned and cooked thoroughly to a piping hot center.
  3. Toast the Burger Buns: While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the sesame seed burger buns in a toaster or on a dry pan until golden and slightly crispy.
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Place each cooked lamb burger on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Spread some of the prepared garlic yogurt sauce over the burger, then top with slices of tomato, gherkins, finely sliced red chilli, and fresh Baby Gem lettuce leaves.
  5. Serve Immediately: Cover with the top halves of the toasted buns and serve the burgers immediately while hot and fresh.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cumin or smoked paprika to the lamb burgers before cooking.
  • If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds from the red chilli before slicing.
  • Ensure lamb burgers are cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
  • The garlic yogurt sauce can be made in advance and refrigerated for up to a day.
  • Serve with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
