Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Mixture
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- Additional orange zest (for garnish, as needed)
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and powdered sugar. Stir until these dry ingredients are well mixed.
- Add wet ingredients: Add the softened cream cheese, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until a dough-like consistency forms that can be shaped.
- Chill the mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. This chilling step firms up the mixture, making it easier to shape into balls.
- Shape the truffles: Remove the mixture from the fridge. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls approximately 1 inch in diameter. Arrange these balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Coat the truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate, fully coating it. Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet to set.
- Add garnish: While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle additional orange zest on top of each truffle for a bright, fresh garnish.
- Set the coating: Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate coating to harden fully before serving.
Notes
- Use softened cream cheese at room temperature for easy mixing.
- To crush graham crackers, place them in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- White chocolate can easily burn if microwaved too long, so heat in short bursts and stir frequently.
- For a stronger orange flavor, increase orange zest by up to 1 tablespoon.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 5 days for best freshness.
