Ingredients
Scale
Prawns and Coating
- 3 x 150g packs Morrisons Market Street Raw Peeled King Prawns
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- ½ tbsp salt
- ½ tbsp ground black pepper
- 75ml olive oil
Additional Taco Ingredients
- 8 taco wraps or shells, warmed
- 150g tub Morrisons guacamole
- ½ iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 170g tub Morrisons salsa
- 150ml pot soured cream
- lime wedges, to serve
Instructions
- Coat the Prawns: In a bowl, combine the raw peeled king prawns with the cornflour, salt, and ground black pepper. Toss thoroughly until all the prawns are evenly coated with the seasoning and cornflour mixture, ensuring a crisp finish after frying.
- Fry the Prawns: Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated prawns in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking each batch for 2-3 minutes until they become crisp and are cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain any excess oil.
- Warm the Taco Shells: While frying is underway or after, warm the taco wraps or shells according to package instructions to make them pliable and ready for filling.
- Assemble the Tacos: Spoon the crispy prawns into the warmed taco shells. Add dollops of guacamole and soured cream, then sprinkle over shredded iceberg lettuce and salsa to add freshness and flavor.
- Serve with Lime: Offer lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos, adding a bright citrus note to complement the savory prawns.
Notes
- Coating the prawns in cornflour helps achieve a crisp texture when frying.
- Frying in batches is important to maintain the oil temperature and ensure even cooking.
- Use fresh lime wedges to enhance the flavor right before eating.
- Can be customized with additional toppings like chopped cilantro or sliced jalapeños for extra heat.
- Ensure prawns are fully thawed if using frozen before starting the recipe.
