  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

This Sunset Citrus Champagne Cocktail is a refreshing and elegant drink perfect for celebrations or a relaxing afternoon. Combining the bright and tangy flavors of fresh blood oranges and smaller oranges with the bubbly crispness of a Rose Brut champagne, this cocktail is both visually stunning and delightfully flavorful. Easy to prepare and beautifully garnished, it offers a perfect balance of citrusy zest and effervescent sparkle.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of your favorite champagne (Rose Brut recommended)
  • 3 blood oranges (2.5 juiced and 0.5 sliced for garnish)
  • 3 smaller oranges (2.5 juiced and 0.5 sliced for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice the Citrus: Juice 2.5 blood oranges and 2.5 smaller oranges to extract fresh citrus juice. Set aside the remaining halves of each orange to use as garnish slices.
  2. Mix the Juices: Combine the blood orange juice and smaller orange juice in a mixing glass until well blended.
  3. Prepare the Glasses: Pour champagne into a stemmed glass, filling it gently to retain the bubbles and avoid overflow.
  4. Add Citrus Juice: Add approximately 4 tablespoons of the mixed citrus juice into each champagne glass, allowing the flavors to meld with the bubbly champagne.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish each cocktail with a thin slice or half slice of blood orange or smaller orange on the rim or floated inside the drink. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing cocktail.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the champagne and oranges before preparing the cocktail.
  • You can adjust the amount of citrus juice to taste, depending on how tangy you like your cocktail.
  • Use fresh oranges for the best flavor — bottled juice will not provide the same refreshing citrus zest.
  • The cocktail is best served immediately to preserve champagne’s effervescence.
  • Experiment with different types of champagne or sparkling wine for varied flavor profiles.
